My house has been clean for 2 weeks straight

Something about the boost of energy, the fast cooking and prep for meals, the prioritizing of my spiritual health, the goal setting… increases the desire for the outside to reflect the inside.


Meditating while cleaning is a thing! It’s amazing for release because of the gratification one receives in seeing a space that’s been cleaned.


Overnight I made a bean soup. I love it. I threw together some drop biscuits too. Mmmm


Not today but soon all these recipes will be posted 🙏🏾

It’s in the aminos

While eating vegan and vegetarian I prioritize foods that help me get my 9 essential amino acids not fill me up. Broccoli itself has 6 out of 9 essential amino acids and my salad has pinto beans and red cabbage to cover the rest. Many overlapping.

The amino acids I’m getting in excess are those that facilitate muscle recovery and growth as well as bone support:

Valine

Isoleucine

Leucine

Lysine

Fasting time

It’s that time of year again where I do my annual fast!!! To be fair the only y thing I’m not struggling with is nutrition.


In general because of the max tests I am grazing on nuts and fruit. Check out this bowl I got from mad Mex. It was delicious and sustaining.

Local Produce

These spring greens mixes from Braddock Farms are as crisp and fresh as the first day I bought them and that was nearly 2 weeks ago!


I like to add lettuce to warm grains to help increase how much I chew my food. If you’ve seen me eat while I’ve had the munchies you’ve probably been traumatized. I’m dainty but so so fast!


Chewing food properly is a habit that can reduce risk of obesity, diabetes, sexual or urinary incontinence, depression and anxiety. To put it in perspective, it’s really all about communicating with the brain what’s happening during the meal. Chewing at least 40 times communicates satiety.


To chew twice and swallow means more food is entering into our stomach than the brain recognizes, which causing us to overeat.

Overeating begets spikes in glucose, begets spikes in insulin, begets, insulin resistance, begets destroyed glucose regulation.
